Excessive Sweating Solution?
I am 14 years old and have tried just about everything to stop my excessive sweating. I’ve used regular antiperspirant, Certain-Dri, Dry Idea, Secret Clinical Strength, Degree Clinical Strength, and the real heavy duty prescription stuff.
I still use the prescription stuff, I apply at night every night and wash it off in the morning. It has significantly reduced my sweating, but I still sweat a lot and stain my shirts.
Please, does anyone know of any other treatments or ways to make prescription strength stuff more effective?
Puberty is awkward enough without being the weird sweaty girl =)
You’re doing the right thing by using your antiperspirant at night, and since you’re using Dry-Sol (the MOST irritating product out there) you’re doing the right thing by washing it off in the morning. If you were to switch to Secret Clinical Strength you wouldn’t have to wash it off–it’s been developed and proven to be just as effective as the old Rx kind.
But otherwise it sounds like you have hyperhidrosis. According to the medical organization that does all the research on sweating, the International Hyperhidrosis Society, you have options like Botox to eliminate your sweating for months–maybe even a year. Find a dermatologist on their web site that has good experience and subscribe to the IHHS newsletter too. They are always working with researchers to improve our sweaty situation and they make big announcements to their subscribers before anyone else knows about it. They also make free stuff available if people want to try new stuff. Go to www.SweatHelp.org and have some fun finally!

Ok so I’m totally waaay sweaty too, but I’ve used certain dri- and I’m pretty sure you dont need to wash it off in the morning… but ok… Anyways, there is no magic cure for this problem, or believe me- I would know about it. Unless of course you’re willing to go thru sweat gland removal surgery…yikes! So you pretty much just have to suck it up and deal. Also, like other responses have mentioned: sleeveless tops and looser shirts- wear them whenever you can. Plus, after you pass puberty you’ll probably be alot less sweaty! (The last sentence is based on knowledge from women I know who’ve been there).

I just read that sage tea helps! If you can’t find the teabags premade at the health food store, you can buy loose sage in bulk and use a tea diffuser or sage extract. Drink a cup in the morning and one at night. You can sweeten it with honey. Good luck!

I’d recommend AHC antiperspirant. To be fair, they’re the same as all prescription strength antiperspirants BUT they don’t harm the skin. Who ever used those remedies knows about the stinging and itching! AHc doesn’t irritate the skin. It’s made in the alps by a small family business in Switzerland. Check out ahc20-sensitive.com !!!
