I live in the Uk and i think i have hyperhidrosis but my mum wont listen to me its frustrating, i have tried many antiperspirants such as mitchum and sure but they dont seem to work. Somedays the sweating is ok but its when i go to school or im with my friends i get paranoid and it makes it ten times worse and i dont know what to do .. I shower everyday and tried talcum powder. Does anyone know of any other antiperspirants that you can buy (not through the doctor) in the Uk that are any good? xxxx thanks

I have this condition in the hands, feet, armpits, groin and sometimes my back, so basically overall on my whole body.
I have been to the doctors and have been diagnosed with hyperhidrosis, they prescribed me some medication however it is only for hands, feet and armpits and it was rubbish, it didn’t work!
what are the drugs i can take?
The doctor mentioned one but she wouldn’t prescribe me it! and apparently there is a side effect of dry mouth
PLEASE LIST MEDICATION I CAN TAKE FOR MY WHOLE BODY, NOT JUST MY HANDS, FEET AND ARMPITS!! and please list the possible side effects.
like any drug you can swallow as this would be the easiest way for me to take it!
p.s this sweating problem has knocked my confidence so bad! I hate myself for having this problem, it feels like its taking over my life!

During a normal day i sweat more than other people (I think) and within an hour or two of wearing that school shirt I can feel wet patches which is quite uncomfortable, i have to wear a clean shirt every day. Then whenever i exercise i sweat lots, mainly all over and a lot on my face and scalp. With in 20 minutes of exercising my blonde hair normally turns dark brown, like it does when I have washed it or have been swimming, and normally my face turns really really red and any make up just drips off my face.
It is really embarrassing and really upsets me, I have spoken to my parents but all they say is ‘Maybe you should lose a bit of weight’ when according to the BMI i am just borderline overweight, if i lose 4 pounds i will be normal again. I really do not understand if this is really hyperhidrosis or not, because no one else i know sweats so much on their face and i have never seen anyone else’s hair completely change and drip after exercising. Deoderant doesn’t work that well for me either, I have only found one which lasts a few hours at the most. And as far back as i can remember i have sweated on my face whilst exercising, but i suppose i am noticing it more now because i am more self conscious and care more about my appearance now that i am a teenager.
Plus all of the sweating really upsets me, because sometimes at school friends ask why my hair is wet, and i know people talk about it because someone said ‘oh yeh thingy said you were really sweaty after PE’.
Please help..?

Answer by slurpee74 Losing weight could make it easier for you to exercise, and if you’re exerting less effort you’ll sweat less.
And a doctor can give you prescription strength deodorant.

i’m a seventeen year old girl, and i never used to suffer from sweating problems. a couple of years ago i got in with the wrong crowd, ended up kicked out of school and doing drugs. I recently split with my boyfriend of 4 years, who was an absolute nightmare! i lost ALL of my friends because of him and became antisocial. i have now stopped using drugs and started going out with my friends again, but i feel like an outsider with them and have seriously excessive sweating under my armpits. i dont understand why!? one of my friends mentioned that axillary hyperhidrosis can be caused from a stimulated nerve system from emotions, which is true, my nervous system has recently been overactive and i have been suffering with depression.
this sweating problem is unbearable! it is like puddles under my arms! even in the coldest of weathers, i can be freezing, yet my armpits continue to sweat. i feel really self conscious. does anyone know anything i can do to stop this sweating, i.e medication tablets i can ask my doctor for, some home remedies.

Answer by Wafflebox Yes. There’s a product called Drysol that you can get. Not available in the UK but you can order it on the net. There is one you can get in the UK, but think it’s the stronger one. You probably need the more gentle formula for your hands. You put it on before bedtime everyother night, and it itches like hell, but you don’t notice once you’re asleep!! Rinse it off in the morning and you’ll find you won’t sweat.
